This is absolutely raw, mind you. No one here had ever played this song together, nor was it even hinted at or talked about at any time leading up to this performance. Note the scolding of the guitarist by the vocalist at the beginning, who really only wanted to play the songs he had practiced. Rather, he would be vocalizing extemporaneously. The drummer takes one listen to the main riff and then the trio all just sort of gel. It is a testament to the greatness that can be achieved in raw live recording, sans metronomes as well as to the perils of overproduction, evident in most major name albums - however, it has its perks as well, does production, what with left and right and layering and all. Not that there is that in here, just on some other songs, which are cool. Nevermind. Well, I don't mean Nirvana's nevermind. I don't think they do any left to right shifting. Take for instance The Selfish Gene from Madison. They have some stuff to that effect in a lot of their work.
